Golf Getaways for Groups of 10
One round, two rounds, hotel breaks and lodges that sleep the lot of you.
Research focused on UK golf resorts and hotels that offer stay-and-play packages for groups, within a 5-hour drive of Brighton. We looked for venues with actual 2026 published pricing, group incentive deals (free place, percentage discounts), and accommodation that works for a group of 10. Prices are for August 2026 (peak season) unless otherwise noted. "Per person" assumes 2 people sharing a room. For 10 people, you'll need 5 rooms at hotel-based venues.
⚠ The "Crazy Deals" Reality
The headline "2-4-1" and "£25 green fee" deals are almost always for individuals or pairs on twilight tee times, not group stays with accommodation. The real group savings come from society packages: 1 in 8 or 1 in 16 goes free when booking 5+ rooms. For 10 people, that means one person gets their entire break comped, or the group splits the saving.

Ignore the Facebook ads promising "£25 golf breaks." The real group deals happen when you know where to look:
- Society Packages: Almost every resort offers unpublished society rates for 10+ golfers. Always phone the golf society coordinator — the online price is rarely the best price.
- Free Place Schemes: Dale Hill (1 in 16), East Sussex National (1 in 8), St Mellion (1 in 16 + 10% rewards). For 10 people, a 1-in-8 scheme effectively saves 12.5% off the total bill.
- 4-for-3 Nights: Q Hotels (Forest of Arden, Slaley Hall) regularly run "stay 4 nights, pay for 3" on golf breaks — watch their offers page from June onwards.
- Midweek vs Weekend: Dale Hill shows a real example: 1N/2R is £209 midweek vs £255 weekend — an 18% saving just for arriving on Sunday instead of Friday.
- Last-Minute Tee Times: GolfNow Hot Deals and TeeOffTimes can slash green fees by 50–80%, but these are day-visitor rates without accommodation. Combine with a cheap Travelodge for maximum stinginess.
- Golfbreaks.com / Your Golf Travel: As aggregators, they sometimes have exclusive package rates you can't get direct. Worth comparing before booking.
| Structure | Per Person (3 Nights + Golf) | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel Golf Break (5 twin rooms) | £240–470 | Dinner included, no cooking, spa access, everyone near the bar | Split across rooms, hotel rules, no shared living space |
| Lodge + Golf (Celtic Manor) | ~£225–290 | Self-catering, shared living room, hot tub, own kitchen, group privacy | Need to cook or eat out, organise own tee times, £583/night minimum |
| Budget Combo (Travelodge + Golf) | £105–165 + £30–60 green fees | Cheapest possible. Golf via GolfNow Hot Deals. | No group atmosphere, split across rooms, no dining package |
August is peak golf season — prime tee times book out months ahead. But this also means resorts are competing for group business.
- Book Early Celtic Manor Hunter Lodges: Only ~20 lodges. August dates go fast. Book 6+ months ahead.
- Phone for Deal East Sussex National / Dale Hill: Society coordinator will beat the website price if you mention a 10-person group.
- Watch for Sales Q Hotels (Forest of Arden): Flash sales in May/June for summer bookings. Sign up to their mailing list.
- Flexible Dates Midweek (Sun–Wed): Dale Hill is 18% cheaper midweek. St Mellion is £40pp cheaper in August vs peak months.
